We took off at 07.15 and landed at Chidden at 08.30, a distance of just 7km. Dave flew most of the way and we managed a lot of low and slow flying. The flying conditions were good, and Dave had no problems. Wayne navigated and we had good views of Portsmouth Millennium Tower and the sea. It was a perfect flight but there were large woods between us and the sea so we touched down in a stubble field, a stone's throw from the Bat & Ball Pub where cricket originated.

The farmer's name was Richard and he was not only extremely pleasant but told us we could land in his fiels any time. Nell his dog was also very friendly.

Mike and Wendy who were on retrieve were with us within about five minutes and were able to drive right up to the balloon. After packing up it was back to the Pott's for breakfast.
