i) GROUND CREW

All members will be taught how to unload the balloon from the vehicle and prepare it for flight, inflate and launch it. You will also learn how to follow the balloon in our own Retrieve Vehicle, make contact when it lands, de-rig the balloon and load it back into the vehicle

ii) FLYING

Anyone who wants to learn to fly the balloon will be welcomed with open arms (it gives me the chance to enjoy the view and relax).

Training consists of the following:-

(a) Checking the crew have rigged the balloon correctly.
(b) Cold and hot inflate the balloon
(c) Taking off, level flight and land i.e. you learn everything

If you want to go for a Pilot's Licence - even better! This will include flights with another pilot who is a National Club Instructor, written exams in Air Law, Meteorology, Navigation etc:, and finally a test flight with an examiner. Once you gain the licence you can get your own balloon if you wish, and you won't need me anymore!
